@thewhoosh One of my favourite walks Keith from Edale via Grindsbrook Clough and back down Jacob’s Ladder. All the height done straight away and a great scramble! :+1:

After seeing the low cloud in Swindon at 7 am, I packed the bags and headed across the Severn Bridge to Wales in search of some high ground to capture some cloud inversions. Temps were -4c to -0.5c the whole day. A 10 hour round trip.

Here’s a few of the Old Severn Bridge taken at 4 pm on my way home. I’ll post the rest tomorrow.

Stunning shots Chris @clinkadink

Cheers Andy :+1: I tried this shot on the way to Wales at 9 am. But the cloud covered the bridge entirely. Fortunately, on the way back at sunset, the cloud had thinned a bit, showing some of the bridge.

Cloud inversions are fantastic in themselves but having local landmarks poking through adds so much to the shot.

100% mate. This is the first time I’ve fluked it

@clinkadink WOW wow and wow, fantastic shots

I stopped off on the A9 on Friday for a quick flight at Ruthven Barracks, Kingussie.

Ruthven Barracks are the best preserved of the four barracks built in 1719 after the 1715 Jacobite rising. Set on an old castle mound, the complex comprises two large three-storey blocks The barracks and enclosing walls were built with loopholes for musket firing, and bastion towers were built at opposite corners. Destroyed by Jacobites following their retreat after the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
