Queen Anne captured last week en route to Southampton…![]()
Nice photos. Are they straight from the camera or have you done any edits?
Strait from camera, jpegs, all on auto. I’m pretty pleased with the results. That reminds need to renew my Adobe subscription it ran out yesterday. And change settings on the drone I usually shoot jpg & raw, forgot to check (also forgot my glasses) just picked and gave it a quick flight, wasn’t till I uploaded to computer that I thought where’s my raw files. ![]()
Thats great. A good purchase made thanks to a dram or two ![]()
Yes, but don’t tell her indoors. ![]()
Think I’d better lay off the hard stuff for a couple of days😎
Nice shots - based on your experience, would you say there’s a reasonable improvement over the Mini 5 in your opinion? I just upgraded my mini 4 Pro to the Mini 5 and am genuinely impressed by the wider dynamic range in shots taken in lower light levels … but keen to know if the Air 3s takes it much further - cheers
Don’t know, I don’t have a mini 5.![]()
The Air3S & Mini 5 Pro have the same sensor and that means the same dynamic range. The 2 lenses on the Air3S may provide flexibility that then allows a more targeted view therefore allowing you to have some control on whats in the frame and the dynamic range needed…. maybe…
Thank You - that’s helpful👍
I recently chose the Air3S over a 5Pro for the additional real world wind resistance (rated the same on the specs but they are not, Air3S is better) and come the revolution on Jan 1st the same regs will apply. And of course the 2 x optical was a biggy ![]()

The same reason why went for air 3s, I live on the west coast the added stability is a big bonus, I’ve noticed some unsharp photos from my mini 4 pro when it’s been a bit gusty. I have a Mavic 2 pro that is great but only a few locations I can fly locally and a pain having to compile risk assessments to utilise article 16 aythoriation, removes th impulse flight when conditions are just right.
So the stability, ability to fly in A1 category from 1st Jan and the 70 mm lens (I like compression in landscape photos a short telephoto gives, my favourite lens on my old slr was a 135mm) were the reasons I went for the air 3s. That and it is just one cool bird.
I’m also hoping that it doesn’t attract as much attention from the gulls, it’s bigger and has a more “menacing “ sound to it.
Since having the Air 3S I’ve noticed a considerable drop in the attention of certain marine flying species.
I have get a red skin for my it supposed to keep birds away, also red props so its a reg/grey which looks kinda cool as well. A mid grey is just about the easiest colour to loose sight of….
Works with some birds, but others won’t give a flying (pardon the pun!)
its a good pun no apology needed, filed for future use on my side. I have a shotgun for the other birds ![]()
A post sunset flight down at New Brighton yesterday evening looking over the Mersey towards the docks.
Oh! Buoy.
. The framing is excellent.
