One of my favourite places for a flight, way back when I first got a drone, was the old Glasgow Graving Docks which had been left derelict for 40 years. On an early morning they were a great location for shots of the River Clyde and Glasgow with no one to bother you except the odd dog walker. The docks are a part of Glasgow’s rich shipbuilding heritage and are now undergoing a £1.5M re-generation. The first part of the new look park opened recently.

How the docks used to look.

This was how it looked on Friday morning.

The docks are close to Glasgow’s Riverside Museum and The Tall Ship Glen Lee.

Looking forward to seeing it all finished. Apparently. the docks are to be restored and used for historic ship repair, there will also be a Maritime Heritage Park and potentially a hotel and new homes on the site.

I could see that by it being so empty and I take my hat off to you for the respect shown. Working there on a professional level I got to meet a lot of people.

On the subject of respect, I was very annoyed with the organisers. We had to install all the PA and camera equipment along with trucks with large screens to display the power point presentation listing all of the fallen. When they gave it to me to upload to our computers I played it back. They had literally just listed about 20 on a page, then next page, another 20, next page another 20. It looked like they did not care. I had a short time to take it into my own hands. From Black and White Text to a peaceful scene with clouds at the top of the page. The names came in and then drifted off to the skies looking like they had gone to heaven rather then just a list. One of the families of the fallen has seen the previous version and it did upset them and they were so happy with the new one. It appeared that the organisers were just doing it because they had to and that it was a list of names. I looked at it and thought, each one of these names is a person, and each person has people who care about them and are there to show their respect. However the whole thing was a peaceful day and the area is so silent. It was on the news and my ass got a show as when I was pulling the cables SKY TV was reporting and I was in the background bending over with cables. Thanks SKY.

I loved my day trawling Glasgow with my camera back in 2015 and I love seeing these changes. That was well and truly pre-drone days for me, but please do keep sharing the changes.

But I did spend time in that museum looking at the old cars there.

When the road at the pub floods, what do you do, that’s right get the jet ski’s out.
the pub is the The Golden Ball hotel on the banks of the river lune. the road floods when ever the tide is exceptionally high which is quite often.

I was parked just round the top right corner of the last picture

A couple of days ago @BingBong and I took off for darkest Wessex to capture some hillforts and stuff. It may take a while to process all the pictures, but here’s a set from Fosbury Camp, an iron age hillfort.

@stevesb Had a few very nice meals at Snatchems.

The dust in the atmosphere in Oz, really makes the sunrises and sunsets glow. Cracking shot Leigh. Are you Bathurst way, or further east?

Had a dawn assault on Hurst castle on Sunday morning. Pretty cold but the sunrise was very clear. There were a few fisherman, but no sign of fish. Several boats, wind surfers and a couple of yachts. Quite busy for 06.30am on a Sunday!
