The Elegoo Centauri Carbon Thread

A place to talk Centauri Carbon, as @Howard78 also owns one and @OzoneVibe will be soon, oh @Earwig was also showing an interest!

One highly recommended mod to print is a tube and frame for the top of the hot end enclosure to aid loading filament.

Raising the lid along with the above gives more room, also the light was rubbish so added a riser and led light ribbon using the 2 below,

to stop derbies going under the build plate,

This, when filters fitted cuts down the rear fan noise,

This seems to work well as replacement spool holder,

My printer is back to a wall (one of the main reasons I got it as the spool is on the side) so this poop chute adaptor is a big win,

And finally (so far) depending on how the runout sensor is fitted, this moves the sensor out to mid reel, aids feed.

So far i’ve printed lots of files and only one hasn’t turned out as expected but that was more down to the file than the printer.

I bought the printer to print drone bits but so far i’ve printed everything but drone parts

However i’m a week in and so far i’m very pleased with my investments prints, speed and accuracy.

So almost a month in now. Enjoying straight forward printing and have recently discovered the ability to create stl files using images and chat gpt.

Test prints happening later.

I also spotted this today

[(Elegoo PAHT-CF High Temp Carbon Fiber Nylon 3D Filament – ELEGOO UK)]

)Seems the ability to print carbon reinforced prints is now here.

I’m interested to know if anyone has tried this so far and or if worked?

I have used Carbon fibre PLA on my Ender 3, not yet tried it on the Centauri, but this PAHT is different, it prints a lot hotter.

A few mixed comments on redit, but that’s usual there.

Looks good but at 3 x the cost it needs to be dialled in and almost perfect.

Otherwise it gets costly
