The Falls of Falloch, Loch Lomond - Added to Rivers and Canals in Scotland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Free car park and well signposted on the A82 - Tarbert to Crianlarich Road.

Short walk to the falls, which can be quite spectacular in full flow, but are still pretty when not in spate and after a period of dry weather.

Gets busy in season and in the day, so plan to visit outside of tourist season or early in the morning - we were there at 745am and had the place to ourselves for a good 25 minutes.

Lots of trees so fly carefully!

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 22/04/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Flown again on the way to Skye, a bit more water and a lot more people…

@AlbionDrones Well I seem to be stalkng you! I went to Carrington a year ago to take shots of the refinery, and now I’m going to Loch Lomond in a week, I had Falls of Falloch on my list of places to go and who’s already been there?
To be fair, I’m thinking more about long exposure camera shots of the falls, but interesting to find out I’m following in your footsteps once more.

I’ve seen some interesting images showing a birds eye view of moored boats on the Loch and will try to work out where they were taken. Aside from Loch Lomond are there any other places up to 40 miles from there you could suggest are worth looking at?

Its mainly a straight photography trip for 6 nights and I’m planning on a day or maybe two in Glasgow , I’ve got Lochs Achray & Drunkie as suggested by @Drumsagard also Ben An, Cloch point lighthouse, Kilchurn castle, Loch Ard, Loup of Fintry looks good as sun drops below hills and Perch low lighthouse.
I tend to shoot from sunrise to sunset, so three or four locations are achievable in a day.
Its 5 1/2 hrs drive up from Nottingham so I am trying to fit in as much as poss. My main reason for buying a drone was so I could take pictures from places I couldn’t reach on foot, particularly at sunset and sunrise so really looking forward to the lighthouses!

Hi Ray,

Lol, stalking me, well, if you had been in Wales the last 2 weekends then that could have been a possibility… Loch Lomond and the Trossachs are awesome, get up to Loch Ard and Loch Chon if you can - some amazing reflections there - we did a photography week in that area about 4 years ago… Glencoe isn’t too far to go from there, neither is Argyle and Bute, specifically Loch Awe and Inveraray… Take a look down Glen Orchy too, a beautiful place with a couple of waterfalls…

Its an area I need to return to with the Drone, and autumn is definitely the time to do it…

Have a great trip…
