The FPV Lounge. Advice for beginners and experts - Ask a question

This :point_up:t2: lol

Ok. I need to do some more reading, me thinks.

I have a few weeks until the frame arrives. So hopefully that will give me some time to read up some more, watch some vids, and understand more about what is needed, instead of pestering you three.

Gentlemen, thank you … and I mean that.

  • 30.5x30.5mm, 25.5x25.5 or 20x20 mm stack mountings in the front, centre and rear.

Copied from the specs for your frame. This gives you loads of options.

Knowing you Chris and that you will probably be pushing it to the limits for speed runs etc I would go for the best esc you can with 50-60A rating

Not sure. I am guessing that is for ā€˜on site on the fly’ tweaks. I am that much of a newbie, I don’t even know if I need that capability! :joy:

Exactly that lol Ill be honest its a nice feature to have but not essential

I’ve never missed it… I just carry a laptop… which is actually used mostly for pulling video off SD cards and previewing it.

No problem at all Chris. If theres one thing we like more than spending money on FPV gear, its spending other peoples money on FPV gear

Quote of the decade

There’s a good app. Speedybee. You’ll need an otg cable / adaptor. Well worth it

Ooooh he’s got the AOS frame… Liked them since I watched Chris (the bore, but too clever man) videos. Heh. And Xing2… I’m robbing Clink @ christmas! All good choices!

For the stack, Mamba’s are pretty solid…

That’ll do you. Then you’re batteries, and you’re done!

BTW isn’t there a UK stockist of the AOS frames, considering he’s British?!

Oh and an ELRS RX… Might as well get the ranger TX’s… Hmmmm… Definitely rob him then

Yep, had to get it from Canada! :joy:

@clinkadink Are you using ELRS or something else for the controller BTW? I can’t remember know we discussed it the other week?

Hah. Weird!

I guess your soldering is OK, with your wonderful shed, however if you’ve not done much of this kind of soldering onto a PCB, I recommend the following:

  • Decent solder (TBS stuff from UMT or HobbyRC stock it)
  • A practice board (links below)
  • Around 400-430 degrees… Get scared of soldering the pigtail (battery to the ESC), lots of heat needed

No, O3 with the Goggles 2 :star_struck:

Oh you gonna use the controller… I see… The one that apparently cuts out if/when video does… I was tempted to switch to sbus and use that, until Mr. grumpy (Madstech), pointed that issue out!

Not bad with the iron. Used to repair laptops. Have an old Aoyue 2900 that serves me well. That said, my eyes are shot these past few years, need to get some glasses.

Youre not gonna hear a buzzer from where Chris is gonna send it!

I have the beacon, works well :+1:
