The Great Big GADC 5th Birthday and Treasure Hunt Challenge!

It is a cloudy landscape :grimacing: but I wanted to base it around the Stone Circle.

Taken early this morning with the DJi Mini 3, hopefully 5 points?

Not much land to be seen in that scape but nevertheless 5 points added to scoresheet :+1:t2:

EXIF data is slightly different. Is your aircraft / phone / pc / device corretly set for time?

It keeps playing up, I did a post the other day on the first flight everything was as it should be but on the second flight the date changed, this morning I double checked the date and time on the controller and it was showing correct so god knows what has happened, a screenshot from the GPS tracker on my car which shows the route I took this morning (some personal data redacted)

What a tool, I uploaded the wrong image, put it down to age :man_facepalming:

This should be the one.

Your first image was correct as a 360.

I got that one correct, I was keeping the other file to upload to dronescene at a later date, in the mist I photographed the wrong thing so I’ll have to go back when its clear  I just saw the mist and uploaded it :man_facepalming:

I’m confused. Answers on a postcard to… :joy:

rawImage (2)

Inspired by Markas’ misty landscape an unscrupulous contestant claimed that the bonus items in his image were there “but the details are hidden in the fog …”

How did this affect the score? Click the Pic™ to see the LEADERBOARD

Ha! You’re confused! There is a bunker full of Chall Com operatives asking each other wtf?

Some contestants will chance their arm at anything, right?

Remember for those of you watching in Black and White the pink is next to the green

So on Sunday I went out and got the military base and was taking a photo of another subject. Due to the low cloud I flew in the wrong direction but didn’t realise until I got home what I’d done. Disaster all round as it was windy, the drone kept wanting to land but I eventually got it back to me.

I saved the image I took, as it is a local landmark and I’ll add it to dronescene once I capture what I actually intended to photograph

Somehow today I uploaded that image to the AONB as there were two misty images on the desktop and I got the wrong one. So when the date was queried I thought my drone was playing up again until I looked at my post and realised what I’d done.

I claim 2 bonus points for:

  • All the same type of wagon (except locomotive(s) and guards van - if any)
  • All the same logo on wagons or containers (except locomotive(s) and guard’s van - if any)

Royal Mail train that comes into shot from top right ~12 seconds in.

Five points. While we accept that we can see Castle Howard in the far distance across the lake your Drone Scene marker doesn’t really reflect your TOAL which seems to be just over 1km away from the marker on the Drone Scene map. There is a rather fine static caravan site very close to the take off point you mentioned in your Drone Scene entry.

A close reading of the rules may prove interesting …

We had hoped to see gentlemen and ladies properly attired in all white bowls clothing, probably sourced from Lillywhites or a similar high-class sports outfitter.

But this is Britain in the third decade of the twenty-first century and standards are fast eroding. The players, however, have made some concession to convention and to tradition and have donned white tops to mark themselves out as participants rather than spectators.

You may have your five points

Not going to argue with that …
