The Great Big GADC 7th Birthday Challenge and Treasure Hunt!

Not the best of days, at least here at ChallCom HQ. Dreich and plowetery by turns.

Yet one brave soul has been out finding subjects and photographing them. Fortunately we had a reference photo from the day before that allowed us to confirm that there was indeed a National Trust property and a lake lurking in the submitted picture of mizzle.

We hope our adventurer is now tucked up warm and dry with a wee glass of something cheery to warm them inside as well. And was the effort worth it?

Good morning

Regarding this subject when you say clump is there a limit on how far these trees are separated ?
Do I need to get my tape measure out :joy:

We need to see seven trees at a reasonable size (so we can determine species) in an uncropped photo. they need to be close enough so that a reasonable person (good luck finding one in this Challenge! ) would say that they are together.

Now that doesn’t give a precise definition in terms of feet and inches but we hope it gives and idea. If you are very unsure about the picture then it probably won’t pass muster. If you aren’t quite sure then post it in a private message and we will let you know whether it will be ok for the challenge or not.

A quick heads up regarding our friends in their fast red jets which might have an effect on your flight planning for the Challenge in August.

<granny suck eggs mode on> Of course a check on Drone Scene before you conduct any flight will show these and other NOTAMs a few days before they are active and during the currency of the restriction <granny suck eggs mode off>

Restricted Airspace (Temporary) - Jet Formation Display Team sites – 8 - 15 August 2024

  • RAF Odiham, Hampshire, 9 August

Borderline!

The objective illustrated must be framed as the dominant subject of your image; the judges may disqualify images they consider do not match this requirement.

Was there a reason for not going closer? Have you found yet another Karen?

Looking at the picture on our giant plasma display screen it looks like the flags are flying from outside the property, it is only when zoomed in using the electron microscope function that we can determine that the flagpole and lamp post are separate items and that the pole is inside the property wall.

Can we remind you what happened before? We got slammed for being too nice to the competitors and got replaced after the first weel with a set of double-hard ba****ds who ran you lot ragged. A little closer to the subjects from now on may help prevent that

A grudging three points.
