Never seen such a quiet members’ track-day at Goodwood. Only about 25 cars all day.
Apparently Jenson Button was there … and even though I spent a few minutes looking at the Lotus cars he was there for, I didn’t spot him.

Did you go on the track?
Just there for some photography and to meat a friend for lunch … this time.
Poor turnout means not many pics - but the meal was good.
Going leccie ?
Love to, but not yet. Solar Garage isn’t that powerful. I’d need to quadruple my output I reckon. Which wouldn’t be cost effective for many years.
Broken down yet again?
Shame tho, stunning looking motor
What are you getting to replace it Chris mate?
Not entirely sure yet. But it has to have big boot space, roof rails, very economical and low emissions. Something like the Audi A4 estate, BMW 3 or 5 Touring, Mercedes E Class Diesel Hybrid or the VW Passat.
I can vouch for the Passat being a very well equipped, economical, comfortable motor and even the saloon has a huge boot, I’ve got the 1.6 diesel and I can get up to 70mpg on a run and it regularly returns 60mpg on local runs. This is the second Passat I’ve had as a company car, first one clocked up over 143000 miles in 4 years without issue, this one is just over 4 years old, 112000 miles and it has developed a rattle/knock from the engine, currently in the workshop for invesigation/repair.
As a hire vehicle I have a Volvo XC60, 2.0 diesel automatic (it is some sort of mild hybrid as it has a battery) and I am loving that, not as comfortable as the Passat on long journeys but it is returning around 50mpg which isn’t bad for a big motor.
Nice photo where is this? Looks like the Lakes?
@D0c.Col I will tell you in a roundabout way

Cracking photo
I was driving to a new location just after our picnic today and spotted a Kestrel resting - pleased it didn’t fly off.
Even some juvenile Osprey have already reached West Africa … a totally solo flight. How the eff do they do that? One arriving at a beach only 20 miles from where one of its parents spends the winter.
Its the mighty ducks doing their “Flying V”
