9: VW Camper van
Hopefully claiming 3 points, please see note below re. surfboard
Burton Dassett Hills, north of Banbury
28th July at 5:20pm
Take Off Location: 52.167362, -1.423411
The surfboard was intented to be on the roof but the wind was so strong it blew of within seconds causing a bit of damage, as the owner was doing me a favour I declined to put it back on the roof, it was very very windy up there.
Calling on the ‘judges’ most generous nature and hope that by having it leaning on the camper is acceptable for the bonus point.
17: A repurposed quarry
Claiming 2 points please
Judkins Quarry, Nuneaton
1st August at 7:45am
Take Off Location: 52.538985, -1.498320
Flown as a Litchi mission
This quarry was originally a roadstone quarry, in the 1980’s it was back-filled with household waste and is now the towns household waste centre including ‘re-use’ shop for ‘Mary Anne Evans Hospice’ charity.
The Wiki link concentrates on the ‘Nuneaton Nipple’ so I’ve also included a more informative link from mindat.org
Hi Steve
I don’t think anybody has interpreted this as two MOTORWAYS intersecting
Surely it’s just a junction on a motorway were another classified road intersects
Cheers
Steve
If we are being pedantic then intersection does mean crossing or merging of two motorways. Junction or interchange seems, by the entries posted, to be the interpretation of this item.
