With my schedule at present, I’m lucky to find time to log on here and browse what’s been posted - forget getting out to capture 25 (or even any) items on the list. Much as I enjoyed last year’s challenge this one is just the wrong side of C19 for me (in Wales) and the £$%^& I need to do.

My submission for item 15: A vineyard

I would like to claim the bonus point for a selfie pic included of me drinking wine at the vineyard

Hambledon Vineyard, PO7 4RY 07:50, Friday, August 07, 2020

Full disclosure: The selfie is of me, however the liquid in the glass is sunflower oil to give the impression of wine. As an alcoholic who has miraculously managed to stay sober since 15 March, 2005 I felt it inadvisable to strictly follow the rules of the competition to the letter. I would, however, appreciate the point!

Hambledon is famous as the reputed birthplace of cricket; Hambledon Cricket Club was founded in 1750 and soon became the most powerful club in the country. In taking on the responsibility for developing the laws of modern-day cricket – including such introductions as length bowling and the addition of a third stump, and the regulation of bat width! – the club earned its reputation as “the cradle of cricket”, a title by which it is still known. It is this history and reputation which today draws cricketers (including visiting Test teams) and cricket lovers from around the world on a pilgrimage to Hambledon – especially to the Bat & Ball pub where club meetings were once held and such laws drafted.

The current Hambledon ground is at ridge meadow, clearly seen in this takeoff location photo

If only the comp needed a vineyard and a cricket pitch in the same photo …

Lovely morning at Sheppy’s Cider this morning. Doing an actual shoot for the owner. (Main video to come)
Shat a brick when he said the cart doesn’t move and was in storage. :poop: never flown inside (I know it will be picked up if I wasn’t flying) so that’s why the cart clip is so short :man_running:t4: Get me back outside with nothing to hit! :brick:
Sadly no truck though! :frowning:

Cider brewery?

Technically no, but this place does the same if not more than a brewery.

“more than a brewery”? How’s that?

Quote: if not more than a brewery

We’ll see. I think there is a crucial step in brewing that isn’t there in cider making …

Was double checked with the Committee before flight. :+1:t4:

Before I get to much shit lol

It was agreed that the the wording “A brewery or distillery” fundamentally implied a requirement that there was a process of fermentation to create alcohol - more than the exact processes used before/after fermentation to achieve the final product.

Fair enough.

I served (sounds like a prison sentence, doesn’t it? 8 years on the committee of our local Advanced Motorists group and did actually enjoy it, but pressure of work, family life and committee work left little time for the things I wanted to do so. I’ve given up the committee, the family have grown up and I’ve taken early retirement (in that order) so I get to do what I want now. Fair play to you for sticking with it :grinning:.
