The Hyperlapse Challenge #5 - 2025 Anything & Everything - Winner Announced

You are invited to create a hyperlapse using a drone at least 15 seconds long on the subject of

Chose as little as you like or as much as you wish, a combination of all things ? or just the one, the choice is yours !

The Challenge will run from 14th July 00:01 to 21:00 on the 11th August 21.00 hours. Your hyperlapse must be taken within that period. Proof may be required in case of dispute

The challenge will run for 28 days and is open to all GADC members. Once closed a poll open to all will determine the ’ first, second & third place winners ‘.

What is a Hyperlapse?

A hyperlapse video is a time-lapse video that uses a moving camera to create a sense of speed and movement. It’s a creative and visually striking technique that combines a series of still images into an accelerated video sequence.

How is a hyperlapse video created?

1. The camera captures a series of still images at different intervals.
2. The camera moves between each photo.
3. The images are combined to create a seamless, accelerated video sequence.

How is a hyperlapse video different from a time-lapse video?

A hyperlapse video uses different angles to create a sense of movement and speed.
A time-lapse video is traditionally shot on a tripod or on a motion control slider, so the camera stays in almost exactly the same spot.

You can also create a hyperlapse in most video editors using footage shot at normal speed footage. There are many tutorials on video sharing sites showing how to do this for specific editors.

How to enter

Create a hyperlapse - both the subject and the camera viewpoint must be moving throughout the video. The speed of subject motion must be a minimum 3x normal

Host your video on YouTube or Vimeo.

Create a post in this thread with THIS IS MY ENTRY in capitals as your first line. Then add, on separate lines:
• Location
• Time & Date
• Aircraft used
• Add anything that might be of interest if you wish

Copy and paste the url of your video hosting onto a separate line in your post with a blank line above and below

The competition will run from 00:01 Monday 14th July till 21:00 Monday 11th August. Shortly after the challenge closes a poll, open to all GADC members, will be open until 21:00 on Wednesday August 13th after which the winners will be declared.

All flights are the sole responsibility of the individual conducting them. Each competitor must abide by the drone code and adhere to the limitations and restrictions imposed upon them by aviation law, the aircraft being used and the qualifications they hold. If a flight is undertaken in a restricted zone proof of permission having been granted is required.

Enjoy, Be Creative & Most Of All Have Fun !

EDIT: THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY

A bit late to the party, but here is my hyperlapse with the Potensic Atom at night.
• Sheffield
• October 2024, around 8pm
• Potensic Atom
• Tilt Shift filter applied post edit
• 1s photo interval - short but gives a fun aspect
• Fun fact - I crashed my drone in the garden landing it after this flight (no damage caused)

Thanks! Perhaps a bit early to the party then? I’ll see if I can do another more contemporary video.

Please feel free to move my post to another thread

@ElCapitan
There’s no need to move it, is fine where it is, it may also help others in deciding a subject/ideas etc,

Please feel free to make another entry if you wish as long as it’s created between the date set out above then all will be fine :slightly_smiling_face:

Given the subject is “Anything & Everything” and @Nikonitis beat me to the harvest, I was hoping to manage to find something else before the competition ended, but the weather decided otherwise. So here are my tiny farmers from a couple of weeks ago.
