Well well well, that isn’t made up!
It does sound like something that Bill Oddy invented.

Yup,
It’s a thing.. who knew..
Apparently, twitchers from all over are coming for a chance to see it.
They reckon it hitched a ride from the states.
Thursday still looking reasonable down south.
Whats the penalty for fps flying without a spotter again? Maybe time for the mirror trick ;p
Absolutely glorious sunny day here in sunny Blackpool (as was yesterday), out on prom for rtf , seagulls galore but showed no interest in the drone. Just f’all traffic! Might try later on in week when weather more iffish, ie; normal.
Finally,
I can keep my water cold by dangling the bottle outa the window ![]()
Cardiff has a bit of a microclimate that shelters us from snow; hills on 3 sides and sea on the 4th. If we get an inch, anywhere north of the motorway gets a foot, and if we get a foot, everywhere north of the motorway is buried…
This is not good from a photo/videographic viewpoint, as most of the snow we get here is horrible slushy dirty wet sleety stuff, pure misery to punish us for getting away with it most of the time! I’m not so old, bitter, & twisted that I can’t take a childlike wonder and unrestrained joy at the proper stuff in decent light, though! Bring it on!
London gets very little unfortunately and when it does, far to many people out ruining it ![]()
Still, at least i’m not quite at that age where i have to worry about going tits up and shattering a femur ;p
I might plan a drive up north for an overnight kinda thing. Just to play.
I probably am, though; certainly old & feeble enough to be very careful when it’s slippery, and use a walking stick. Pole, to be exact.
Some snow in the SE according to #uksnow Map - See where it is snowing in the UK right now!
Not exactly “weather” .. but that feels crazy early to be so dark .. and there’s still almaost a month to the solstice! ![]()
What app is that?
PhotoPills - more for predicting sun, moon, milky way alignment with a PoI, and altitudes, for photography, but it has lots of other useful info too.
I have the paid version, not sure what’s on the free version. Single, sensible, fee .. worth the money. Some good tutorial YTs to get a really good idea what it can do.
Planit is the other one I use. Does the same, but differently, and depends what I’m planning as to which I use
Thanks, I’ll have look!
Tomorrow is looking semi reasonable down south ![]()
I managed to fly yesterday from Knaresborough Castle, the wind was strong but the Mavic 4 Pro managed admirably, we then went into Harrogate and the heavens opened, and by’eck was it torrential, my daughters had never seen rain so heavy and so unannounced, although it was forecast to rain from 9am it never came until 12
