The weather! ... and flyability

Looks as if it is heading our way.

I’m not making any more comment.

Anyone who suggests the breeze might be a bit stiff can report to the headmaster after class.

I’ll have to report to the headmaster after class then; I made the comment up the pub yesterday.

Not unusual for Carribean hurricanes to track up the US eastern seaboard and over to us, by which time they are no longer hurricanes. They can still be quite severe storms, though, carrying a lot of water and with very string winds! An indication
Is often very mild air

Looks like it’s heading our way? Looks like the sort of thing my Year 8 boys would draw on the whiteboard at break time! I threaten them with the headmaster too :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Well, I thought that as well, but I’m too classy
to say so, Jen…

Managed to get a couple flights in earlier this avo, just as well because it kooks like wall-to-wall wind & rain for the next week, again, with the remnants of Melissa arriving over the weekend. S’pose I can’t complain, it’s Wales and it’s the end of October!

Considerably weaker, thank god, I’ve already repaired my poor old greenhouse at least three times this year.

Typical, being off sick (foot injury) from work has made me ‘time rich’…but the bloody weather is preventing me from using the time productively…i.e. flying my drone :face_with_steam_from_nose:

Looks like Wednesday is best option for flying round here next week. Though still chance of rain.

And, we’ve got a window this avo, so I’m off out flugspielung down the Bay! Last chance for a week by the look of it…

I was over the sea yesterday and today… The SW wind was spicy but it was fun. :slightly_smiling_face:

And… the cloud closed in over the afternoon sun just ss I got off the bus, killling the light flat dead. Used the trip to do a bit of night-flying practice, so it wasn’t wasted, just a bit disappointing snd, well, meh!

Looking forward to the video

I’ll check the reports for tomorrow or maybe thursday

Thursday isnt looking too bad down south

Tuesday seems a little ‘spicy’ as Mr @uavhampshire put it but possible.

Apparently, there is a rare bird thats been spotted around your favourite castle type area.

Boat tailed grackle or somesuch. I’ve not done my googling yet.

I told the nice chap who told me about it i’ld avoid that direct area.

Seagulls can gtfo but anything rare or nesting ill try to avoid

I heard about the sightings of this Scarlet Ibis. Although they have predominantly been much further up by the River Test.

I was down by the Spit on Sunday and although I saw a handful of Twitchers, I wouldn’t worry about it. The local Oystercatchers will probably feck it off anyway. :joy:

Just be mindful of migratory birds at present, there’s a number of them around the area in large groups that appear at times from nowhere!
