Tooting Bec - Added to Parks and Recreation in Wandsworth, London

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

A large 158 acre public open space with lakes, a lido, athletics tracks and lots of space to fly

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 18/06/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

Hi @74_mozza, it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

I’ve flown here too @grandad1950 :grin:

For any FPV folks there are a couple of good spots that I fly regularly:

///posed.inform.catch

This is a small wooded area, pretty tight flying inside it (tinywhoops only I would say) but there is very litte civilian traffic in an otherwise busy London park, so it is a good spot to practice without annoying anyone else.

///maybe.boxer.hiking

This is my new favourite, still wooded but a little more open (basically a big avenue at one edge of the common), loads of really nice trees with great gaps! Again I have only flown tinywhoops here, it may be a bit tight for anything larger. There are pathways either side, a few people passing by on foot, but it is easy to stick to the central area and stay out of their way, I have had no complaints, only a couple of curious passers-by who stopped for a chat.

Easy access, parking on Woodbourne Avenue is only restricted to permits Mon-Fri between 12-2pm, and all the other roads round there are similar, definitely all free at weekends, and it is at the quieter end of town.
