Torksey Castle - Added to Bridges in East Midlands

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Torksey Castle is an Elizabethan manor house located in the village of Torksey on the east bank of the River Trent in Lincolnshire.

It is a 16th-century Tudor stone-built fortified manor house founded by the Jermyn family of Suffolk. It is a Grade-I listed building and a scheduled ancient monument but the building is on the Heritage at Risk Register.

The site is only visible from the road and a public footpath, on the west bank of the River Trent.

Parking just on station road walk over the viaduct you can fly from there.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 17/02/2024. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I flew from the bungalow you can see to the left of the ruins… the chap who lives there was saying that the house three down, took a shotgun to a drone some time ago, and blew it out of the sky… He says it was scaring his pony… might have been an old wives tale, but worth a mention in case anyone else flies from your location on the viaduct.
