Torren Lochan, Glencoe

Perhaps the penultimate video from our Skye trip - apart from an oligatory showreel of course - and a short video from the ever stunning reflections at Torren Lochan in Glencoe, taken during our journey up to Skye…

Sadly an hour further on from this we were stuck in traffic for just under 3 hrs after an RTA ahead of us - the alternate route was 180miles and 3hrs+ of driving, so we sat it out while the air ambulance came and went - thankfully no-one was too badly injured…

@AlbionDrones Serene Suzzanne. Thx for reminding me of a walking holiday we once had in Glencoe and driving through Rannock Moor was awe-inspiring. After a week of walking and scrambling up mountains we were well knackered but the promising views from the top of Pap-of-Glencoe was too big an opportunity to miss. We were not disappointed it was breathtaking. Although we took the climbers route up, there is an “easy route up” that is well within the capabilty of an able bodied person to achieve… or a drone pilot from it’s base of course!

Thanks Colin, Glencoe is an awe inspiring place, I may have some more footage of it to process, a flight up the hidden valley, if I can get the edit right…

Yup, I need to take a wander up into those hills / mountains, but I am not as fit as I need to be, a long way to go to get there, but I will, eventually…

We stopped off at the viewpoint on Rannoch Moor. It’s a short hike up to the hidden valley from there. There’s a few places that get your adrenaline going if i recall (or running if you get my drift). It’s mad to think that the valley was used by the MacDonald clan to hide their stolen cattle, as well as dodging the Redcoats and fighting rival clans. Good views of the 3 Sisters as well from the top of the skilift.

We got trapped up there after a landslide on the main road through Glencoe a couple of years back, not a good spot to be stuck in but great droning place. My fav is the glencoe lochan.

Thw Lochan is a wnderful place, flew there in the spring and got some fab footage - link below - but ran out of time this trip, so didnt stop there, wish we had now as we would have still been delayed by the accident, but we would have spent the time flying drones instead of sitting in the car…
