Trying wildlife camera

The one NOT to get is this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0823BS13J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
However, I see it’s now unavailable, so they may have withdrawn it.

We have another Apeman. This one https://www.amazon.co.uk/APEMAN-Activated-Waterproof-Monitoring-Surveillance-H45/dp/B07PVP3NHP/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2LNHETNRV22TZ&dchild=1&keywords=apeman+wildlife+camera&qid=1586027285&s=electronics&sprefix=apeman%2Celectronics%2C153&sr=1-2-catcorr
and it’s fine. The thing is, you need to make sure it has 940nm LEDs, they are invisible.
Most of them seem to be the same chipset and firmware, even across different makes.
Oh, and you need to check the actual resolution. Some say 30MP but are actually 20 and most of the 20MP ones are actually 16. I think any 16 - 20MP with 940nm LEDs will suit you well. You should get a good one under £50. Absolutely no point spending £200. The picture quality is the same, the limiting factor is the Infrared illumination which will always be slightly grainy. Good luck.

Sadly the reviews don’t mean much. We got two free memory cards when we left a review for the first Apeman and the we were offered a refund of the purchase price on the latest one if we left a review. You don’t have to leave a good review, but it’s tempting, to make sure you get your free gift.

Thanks Andy @ash2020, might give the Apeman a punt.

No problem. I don’t think you can go too wrong. You can get some pretty good results for £30-£40.
Good luck.

I swear the reality of what happens at night is no less scary than our childhood “monsters under the bed” fears!

Mainly manic worm activity (faaaasst time-lapse), with a brief visit by the hedgehog (slight time-lapse).

(The netting is to stop the effing pigeons eating all the wild flower seeds that have been planted in this patch under the bird-feeder.)
