Two Exmoor Flights

Two drone flights from a grey and windy day in October 2023. First, Shoulsbury Castle, an Iron Age hill fort near Challacombe, Devon, then Five Barrows, a collection of Bronze Age burial mounds a mile or two away. On the horizon in the first part of the video you can just make out Hartland Point, 30 miles away.

DJI Mini 3 Pro, edited in Adobe Premiere Rush (a first for me).

Shoulsbury Castle
Shoulsbury Castle
Shoulsbury Castle is unusually rectangular and on a western hill spur suggesting that it is either Roman or Iron Age. It is the largest and best known hillfort on Exmoor that has been referred to as Solsbury, Shorsbery, Salusbury, Shoulsbury, Showlsborough, Shoulsbarrow in various texts over the Centuries. The area was occupied from the Iron Age into the early Saxon period by the Dumnonii people.

Five Barrows
Five Barrows
Despite the name there are nine barrows at this location. The largest here has an OS triangulation point on top.
