Yeah, thatās one area where Airdata is limited - doesnāt give you wind direction nor cloud cover either. OK I can get that from Windy or PredictWind but UAV Forecast was convenient to open up a single page and see everything at glance.
Its telling me there is strong winds and gust in my area now⦠in reality there is hardly a breath on my fair skin I must say!
Really disappointing that they did not even bother to put a message onto their app telling us of an impending change - oh well they wont be getting my money!
I have downloaded Airdata and that combined with Windy will have to meet my needs
Check the location - It has an annoying habit of picking a random location nearby when it opens. Iām in Somerset and despite me entering my home location each time it never remembers and gives me Bristol or Cardiff instead, where conditions can be completely different. Must be a setting somewhere..

Yes I noticed but was only a mile away. But TBH it did whip up a breeze about an hour after I posted. Will use again. Ta.
I like.
Bye Bye UAV Forecast.
No one answered my question. Is Dtonecast any good? At first glance it looks ok. Havnt tried it in the field yet.

Do you want nil returns ?
What does a site search bring up ?
I thought this would be an appropriate place and time to discuss UAV Forecast alternativesā¦
edit A site search returns very very little actually.

Probably no one uses it
Someone needs to send @GAVINHR an invite to GADC
Not sure I agree with him.
One of the features I like about UAV Forecast was that I could set the limits higher to allow for different drones - or indeed my own criteria.
With Airdata it is likely to say not good to fly, when the wind is actually not that bad - from a visual aspect I prefer to set my wind at say 25mph and have it green than to have it showing red.

Thank you⦠What I thought, seems a bit daft, no direction!
Heād write paragraphs when he could have just said 5 words.
For a minute there I thought you were referring to my partner
Used the app since my Mavic 1 days but its useless now. 3 hours is worthless for planning or even same-day trip purposes.
I like the customisation of go/no-go parameters and the winds aloft but that isnāt worth the Ā£50+ a year they want.
There are other weather apps a third of the price or even free for the same functionality.
Looking at the 1* reviews theyāre going to get a lot of uninstalls.
Thatās pretty good, combines two apps together. No need to check both Drone Assist and UAV Forecast.
Iāve deleted it, before the advent of mobile phones and Apps I used to look at how much tall trees were swaying and I still do which costs nothing.
So itās back to looking out of the window and PCā¦.
