Unable to connect android phone to goggles N3

Learning manual FPV with a NEO.
I had no problem activating the Goggles N3 or the FPV controller using DJI Assistant 2. And had been flying my NEO no problem with the Goggles N3 and FPV controller (note I had a 128GB micro SD card in the goggles N3, and it had been recording fine). But when I tried to connect my android phone to the Goggles N3 using the Fly App via USB cable the phone kept coming up with some message about ‘an unrecognized Linux device was attached,’ and did I want to format it.?? I just clicked cancel and backed out of that screen PDQ :hushed:.

The phone would then say it’s ‘USB charging’ and I was unable to get it to switch into ‘file transfer mode’.

And the Fly App on the phone never connected to the goggles n3 :sob: or displayed what the Goggles was seeing from the NEO. (The display on the goggles N3 was working fine).

For info I was using an existing USB-C (m) to a USB-A (m) cable and a USB-A (f) to USB-C (m) adapter if that’s any help. I have since ordered a USB-C (m) to USB-C (m) from Amazon, that should arrive 27-28th Dec if I’m lucky. But wanted to know if anyone else had problems using the third option in the Go Fly option on the Fly App? Or it’s just me forgetting something again?:sweat_smile:

You shouldn’t a cable to view the goggles view, just use WiFi connect

Mmm, that’s not what the Fly App appears to say, see screenshots from my android phone when attempting to connect as per the App.

And then I attempt to select the 3rd option:

Is the Fly App wrong then?

In the goggles menu ……

Enable Share FPV to Mobile Device Via Wi-Fi in the goggles, then connect the phone to the goggles via Wi-Fi. The live view will appear in the DJI Fly app on the phone.

Yiu can only view on one device at a time

Tried and tested at the big meet with the Avata 2, I’ll test the Neo tomorrow

With the goggles 3

The op has the N3 which only support direct connection as they don’t have WiFi or Bluetooth

For what reason do you want to connect your phone to the goggles

To share the goggles N3 view with others standing by me as I fly as shown in the DJI videos. :grinning:

On the other goggles, not sure about the N3 but it should be the same you had to use an OTG adaptor like this

the adaptor had to be in the goggles but if you have a USB C to C that will work

To connect to live feed

  • Wired Connection with Smartphone*
    1. Connect the USB-C port of the goggles to the smartphone.
    2. Launch DJI Fly app and tap GO FLY in the lower right corner of the screen to enter the
    liveview.

Hi, an update, in case anyone else has a similar problem. I bought a new USB-c to USB-c cable, and my android phone can now connect to my Goggles N3 no problem

Thanks for all the comments
