Understanding & learning the differences of different VTX & RTX systems

As per the few recent posts in the Big Meet 2025 thread.

There was a question asked, about when the self build drone & wing operators, with DJI Air Units installed, can / should fly.

Do they fly at the same time as the ready made DJI drones (Avata, Mini’s, Neo, MAVIC, etc…) or with the self build drones?

Off the back of that question, I asked if there are any risks of the different RTX protocols (ELRS, Crossfire, etc…) having a negative impact each other.

I ask this because I’m genuinely interested and keen to learn more of the differences (pros & cons).

I’d assumed (rightly or wrongly) that ELRS was most popular option,

ELSR is the radio link; this generally isn’t the issue, it can be, but the main problem is the VTX
