Hi ppl
I’m new to GADC, so please excuse me
Yes I know my username is paddydji because I started with a DJI.
But I like the look of the yuneec drones and from what I hear they are quite good, well I have got myself a h520 for free, yes free with everything. The only problem being that the batteries are no good to do a flight and I have to replace one of the landing gear servos.
I have looked for a servo and have found that I can’t get them from the UK and have to get them from the EU, which doesn’t bother me but they say that you can’t buy the batteries anymore and they still sell the h520e??
So, have I come into yuneec world too late?
Thanks

I have just seen on there that the batteries are not for the h520
I have found them on eBay but I wanted the original ones not the copies. Thanks
Original batteries are like rocking horse
I fly the Typhoon H and have used 3rd party batteries without any issues. Flight times have been the same if not better than the original batteries that came with the drone. You may occasionally come across original batteries for sale but they will invariably be second hand and not knowing the charge history or the conditions they have been stored in means I wouldn’t consider them myself.

Oh right ok thank you for that, maybe I need to reconsider then and get some 3rd party batteries
No problem, compared to the DJI “ intelligent” batteries the ones used by Yuneec drones are pretty dumb and simple.

I’m not familiar with Yuneec batteries, are the H520E batteries different from the H520 ones?
Maybe give Leicester Drones a ring, they’ve been dealing with Yuneec stuff forever, may have some new old stock hidden away somewhere

I maybe wrong @PingSpike but I believe that H520 and H520E batteries are not interchangeable between the H520 and H520E drones. Each Yuneec hexacopter battery type has its own dedicated charger, the DY3 for Typhoon H480 batteries, DY5 for Typhoon H+ and H520 batteries and the DY5E for H520E batteries.

Apparently yes they are different, the pins look different from what I can see.
Thank you for your advice
No worries, sorry to get your hopes up
It’s ok any help is better no help

As Yuneec batteries are not smart batteries, they are basically a custom case and connector with generic lipo cells inside. So genuine or copy will not make the slight bit of difference.

Any updates on your Yuneec situation @Paddydji ?
Alright mate, no I have put it on the back burner because I got a inspire 1 at a good price. I repaired the servo but just waiting to get a decent battery to try it.
