User research opportunity: Help improve the CAA web site

Published by CAA today:

Help us improve CAA.co.uk

We are currently working to improve the information architecture of the CAA website, with a focus on Drones.

We’re looking for drone users to take part in a user research session where you’ll review our proposed drone pages. Your feedback will directly help us make the drones section easier to navigate, clearer to understand, and quicker to use.

Session Details

When: Wednesday 17th June – Friday 19th June 2026 :backhand_index_pointing_right: Click to book a research session

Duration: 1 hour
Where: Online via Microsoft Teams

What’s involved:

  • Walking through key drone related tasks
  • Sharing your opinions — no technical or regulatory expertise required
  • A computer and mouse: Tree‑testing involves selecting and navigating lists, which is more difficult on phones or tablets.
  • A willingness to think aloud: Hearing your thought process helps us understand how the website supports (or gets in the way of) your journey.

Your insights will help ensure the drones section is intuitive and genuinely useful to the people who rely on it most.

Umm, not to be negative but, “You can’t polish a turd?”

How can they make the website easier to navigate and understand when the underlying regulations are so convoluted? I guess we’ll see. Or the guinea pigs will.

Also,

This doesn’t bode well? Maybe it’s only for the testing. Let’s hope.

Maybe it will all be brilliant and I should just shut up. I have noticed a distinct tendency in myself to assume everything’s crap these days. It’s probably my age.

Booking page isn’t working - only today available and it has no sessions (not surprisingly) - maybe they’ve already booked up.

Agreed, the usability of their web site is the least of their worries.
