Using A.I. in a good way to bring life back to Friargate bridge, station and Bonded warehouse

I see a lot of A.I. slop as its known but I wanted to try and use the tool in a good way and think I’ve achieved it with this collection.
My latest video is a nostalgic look back in time at how Friargate bridge, Friargate railway station & the Bonded warehouse could have looked over the last 148 years using A.I.

Hope you enjoy this collection of short video clips, I have spent a lot of time making sure they are good and not included any with glaring errors in them. I have used a wide range of source photographs ranging from 1878 to the 1970’s, I have included many different views, even some aerial shots of the station from the 40’s and 50’s

Every small video clip in my video was generated from a single low quality Black and White photograph or postcard. Everything you see has been created from it and my description given to the A.I. tool. I would say it’s 95% accurate with things but of course as the original source images were B&W then it’s not going to get the colours correct all the time. One of the photographs is from 1878 so of course nobody knows what colour the bridge was back then.

Friargate bridge was built in Derby by Andrew Handyside Ltd, Please join my “Andrew Handyside Facebook group” to learn more about all the things they made around the world.

If you enjoyed this video then you will probably enjoy my Derby then and now playlist on YouTube.

Best viewed on a large computer screen or smart TV as this is recorded in 4K resolution with great music so a real waste watching it on a small phone screen. Did you know you can cast it to your smart tv from the YouTube app?

Feel free to share the link to my video to anyone you think would enjoy it.

OK, so now I’ve got another rabbit hole to go down: education of historic images through AI video.

@comedyhunter Nice one Andy. I have gone down a similar route with my history based videos. I think they are far more engaging to watch and add another dimension to drone footage, as long as you don’t go mad!
