Using the DJI RC2 in bright sunlight / shades

Hmm, something I never noticed but will definitely look into.
Thanks for the heads up.

I used to find the RC2 controller difficult to see at times particularly on a bright day in direct sun, but it was always remedied by careful positioning, moving into shade where possible, or using some kind of a screen hood.

But since upgrading to the RC 2 Pro it’s not an issue because the new screen is so bright it always remains visible even in direct sun.

Having just purchased my present outfit Mini 4 pro with the RC2 controller I have to make do with that for now and use any work around. Its all a learning curve for me so thank you for your advice. Everyone who answered my question thank you it was gratefully received and made me glad I joined such a helpful and welcoming group.

It still annoys me no end that DJI won’t sell drone-only packages - I’d like the Mavic4, but I don’t need to put money into yet another RC2 controller, and I certainly don’t need to pay an extra 800 quid for a second pro controller deal.

I’d be more than happy for DJI to sell a drone only Mavic4 for 1600 instead of bundling an RC2 in for 1850

Seems that it would make more sense to supply a controller free drone otherwise you would have a room full of them.

You could try selling the controller on, pretty much a ā€˜new’

I have the hinged cover that acts as a sunshade, but in really bright conditions I’ll plug a pair of xreal air 2 pro glasses in. With those glare us nit an issue and you can still have line of sight

Sounds like an interesting idea.

Strange! A few days ago on the beach I was really struggling to see the screen on the rc2. Today at the Beacon Park meet-up it was much brighter and yet I had no issues seeing the screen

Magic?

Polarized sunglasses…great for fishing and rc fixed wing but not RC2 screens!!!

That’s exactly why I’ve bought a pair also.
