Video tracks side by side - what is the process called?

I want to edit 2 videos so that the final output shows them either one above the other, or side by side.
Does this effect have a name, so I can search on how to do it?
Is it possible to do it with either Capcut, adobe premiere pro or microsoft photos legacy - these being what I have installed.

My entire video experience to date is clipping tracks and splicing 2 together!
Thanks.

Cant speak for those editors but its usually just a case of laying the 2 on your timeline then transforming and resizing to where you want them on the frame.

This might help though

“Split Screen Videos” :+1:
Obvious really - I guess.
Thanks for that link, I’ll crack on with watching it.

you might also find its called Picture in Picture ( PnP ) I am sure that’s how I found the solution I was looking for with Da Vinci Resolve when I wanted to show the drone footage v the goggle or controller footage too - so that could also be a port of call too along with split screen. ( sort of the same thing just one is a box in the corner and the other takes up a large % of the screen )

Thanks @LE60LAD - I shall use that as well.
I have done something in capcut now, but I’ll probably get a better result with adobe premier pro.

Really though, I had just better install the davinci one because it seems to be the goto one to use.

I cant comment on the others and I am no pro on editing at all but for a free package like Davinci its an incredible bit of kit - is it better than the others ? well if its free then hell yeah - but I guess it depends on the work flow and how you like things to be - there is an incredible community behind it with loads of tutorials online but I guess there is just as many for the other platforms out there too - I just don’t look at them as they are not applicable to me
