Visiting Nairn

Off to Loch loy holiday park next week and wondering if there’s any good spots in the area for flying .Ive looked on drone scene area seems to have alot of yellow covering the area lol.

@Steviecam the electricity pylon at the end of my street is showing yellow on the map

It would help if you mentioned why or what was yellow

One for areal survey several for railway tracks a few for parks

Well there’s your answer then

Ah well I guess the areal survey alone will keep me grounded locally then lol.

Oh? Why’s that?

Well I suppose I would hear any aircraft in the immediate area and just land I guess lol.

We stayed at Loch Loy in Aug 2020, the beach is a great place to fly, straight over the bay towards Invergordon, just climb over the raised sand dunes and you will see what I mean, enjoy

I’m in Nairn and have flown in east beach (behind the caravan park) several times. It’s a big open space when the tide is out. The yellow around that area is SSSI. Check details on dronescene. There’s a bird pond behind the dunes so you need to be careful around that area in breeding season.
Otherwise around Nairn there is ‘secret beach’ a couple of miles to the east of Nairn. See pin on map.

Ah I see the big yellow blob of aerial surveys now! That’s a bummer for you, and me as I haven’t been out for a bit but was hoping for some clear weather to get out in soon. Hope you have a nice holiday.
