OK so maybe a better question, how and with what are you uploading to youtube?
You have a portrait window with a landscape video ;o(
Click on shorts,then upload which then automatically produces video
You want to be shooting portrait mode then to get the most out of it

No it doesn’t.
As you can see - it IS in full screen … because it’s saying “Press Esc to exit full screen”
Yeah, same on my laptop in full screen mode it’s still a little box in the middle of the full screen black YouTube window:

I meant unusual compared to every other YouTube video we see

Try uploading normally to YouTube @Paxo ? Without clicking on “shorts” first?
Shorts are designed for portrait video, due to most of them being shot on a mobile phone camera. As stated above @Paxo re upload the video without using the shorts function. Just upload it as a normal YouTube video
