I was flying by a lake and I have slipped into the lake and in the process flew my drone into a tree, landing in the water. Overall top performance by me, couldn’t have gone any better.
The drone ended up being in the water submerged for around 10-20 minutes
On a scale of 1 - you are a complete moron Paul, how bad is this likely to be?
I was in the process of buying a new drone anyway, should I just go through with that do you reckon?
It has been known for them to dry out airing cupboard silica gel etc, I think there’s a thread on here somewhere ( I think )
That’s entirely up to you, I suppose you could & leave the other one in the hope it may dry out & work again, if it does you could always keep as a spare or sell it on if all works well, just my opinion tho you don’t have to take my word for it, sorry to hear that tho
I bought 2 tickets in the hope of getting the generator, then I found a good deal for a refurbished unit from EcoFlow - may get the new Mini 4 with my winning ticket
That is such a selfish attitude. You should do it to support the club, absolutely dispicable behaviour, you would never catch me entering with the hope of winning!
But could have done with FPV vouchers being a prize, it’s costing me a fortune and would love to win some of those. But the ecoflow will do me nicely.
In my younger days I did a lot of sailing and in the club our radios in particular were liable to go overboard.
We used to put them in muslin wrapping inside a vacuum storage bag for woolly jumpers with a good portion of kitty litter that absorbs moisture quickly.
Use a vacuum cleaner to evacuate the bag once set up and repeat three or four times over a week.
If you have removable batteries obviously take them out.
My guess is you would have learnt not to do that again. So sorry to hear of your disaster but as they say every day is a school day! Hope you and your drone dry out and all still working OK once dried. I am sure most of us have had our own disasters mine cost me a £150 repair!
