Got the boy a Jumper T-Lite V2 a couple of months back. He keeps banging on about wanting to do FPV every time I drag him out, so I thought Iād get him started on the simulators. It was his birthday last week, so I got him a BnF Baby Ape.
Itās only taken me 3 hours to get the two talking to each other and configured. Sounds like a long time, but my first FrSky took about 3 months.
Had to flash the TX as it was on some ancient 2.x version and the quad is 3.x. Still not the latest (thought Iād just match the TX to the RX for now) - but working.
Having just changed a controller from node 1 to 2⦠I looked into what 3 and 4 were⦠And what they are is madness⦠Madness I say! Itās like people who donāt play computer games inverted mouse or controller
RM Pocket or boxer. Boxer if you can. 99 dollars I see it somewhere for the 4in1.
Probably this. The T Lite is a nice (and cheap) little TX, but itās a one trick pony and external modules on these game-pad style controllers always look clumsy to me. Better if you can get it all built in.
However, a quick look would suggest such a thing does not exist - itās either/or, so youāll always need an external module. Or two controllers.
Buying the TX16S was the best choice at the start of this hobby. Was relatively new at the time (no boxer or Zorro, etc), got a tinyhawk, e800d goggles and the TX16S⦠One of them I use weekly still and was the right choice (ok maybe Iād get a boxer today, though I do love the screen on the 16s).
Last night got an old spectrum controller working wirelessly with the radiomaster to control an airplane with wireless trainer⦠Needed a 2 module system for that⦠Think what you may like to do in the futureā¦
I feel the same about my TX12, to be fair. If I were to go to ELRS, Iād probably just get a module for that. Easy enough to just swap out the TBS module as required.
I have a T-Pro v1 and if you are a pincher, it would be fine. But I am not and even after taking a hacksaw to the sticks I still find them too high. Iām going to get a RM Pocket at some point and see if that suits better, but StingerSwarm reckons itās more aimed at pinchers, ergonomically speaking. So donāt know. Might try a Zorro or Boxer if not.
