Hi All,
On a Mini 4 Pro, when you record a waypoint mission, how does it decide where the 1st waypoint is?
Is this based on a certain distance and trajectory from the launch site, or is it based on a specific GPS location.
If I launch from one spot on one day, and go back at a future date and can’t get to that same spot (maybe 20m away), will the first waypoint location also be 20m ‘off’?
Either way, am I right in assuming that I the altitude of the programmed waypoint is based on the height relative to the take off point?
Thanks
From my understanding way point 1 (fixed GPS position) is the start point so where you take off from is irrelevant as far as the position goes (un sure about altitude) it will just fly to way point 1 before starting the mission.
Altitude is a very good question, I’d guess it would be relative to the take off point so if you take off from a higher altitude for the 2nd flight I’d guess that the altitude would be off by the difference between the 2 different take off locations.
Thanks @DeanoG60
You are broadly agreeing with my thoughts …
I just have a nagging doubt that I have heard or seen somewhere that implied that if the take off point is changed, then everything from then on changes by the same amount.
If I had one, I’d try it, but I’m trying to advise someone at work, and Im not 100% confident.

@BudgieUK It’s my understanding Peter that Waypoints can be adjusted with height, record/not record, angle of flight relative to a POI and GPS coordinates along with start and finish parameters. Its my understanding your home position at the point you choose to start and end the saved flight is irrelevant; although like @DeanoG60 Deano says above, I’m also not sure what the drones trajectory is from the home point ie does it ascend to the 1st waypoints chosen altitude relative to where you’re standing before making a b-line to the chosen start point.
