I have a Mini 4 Pro and Neo, and will be travelling to Portugal later this year. Am not sure which one to take. The Neo would be (slightly) smaller in terms of packing (I’d take controller and batteries), but the Mini 4 Pro offers much more flexibility, including night flights.
I have my EASA and Europe-wide insurance, so I think I’ve covered everything legally.
(One downside is that I’m staying only 20 mins from Faro, so cannot film at the resort I’m in due to the FRZ in place there, so I’ll be limited to only using when travelling outside of that area).
Thanks - a very useful thread (as usual), and I’ll definitely need to spend some time to get all that registration done.
However, part of my question still stands. I’m in two minds as to which drone to take. Both are sub 250, so the law would be the same, and I believe there are restrictions on night flights (which the Mini 4 Pro would be the more capable drone for). I just wondered if any other members had taken a lesser drone away rather than their higher spec model and regretted it, or had some other experience to add.
I know the Neo has a smaller sensor and 2-axis gimbal, but given that I’ll have plenty of daylight will it matter?
