Which glue to repair a Mini 4

Mini 4 has taken a fall and have a snapped front support leg.

Anyone suggest what glue I can use please, Super glue doesn’t appear to be holding!

Thanks

This stuff is like solid rock

Thank you. Concerned now I have tried super glue that it is trying to stick super glue to super glue

Also try sanding both areas before using glue, if enough of a gap you could drill micro holes and use a piece of paperclip cut down to give it strength, or see how much a new arm is, and use glue as a temp repair, good luck

I have got 2 year care refresh.
Does anyone know if that would cover it and if so what do I do?

Thanks

I am sure it covers accidents, contact them via live chat and ask, they will walk you though it all

I’ve used this to glue arms back on to my Mini 2. It was meant to be a temporary measure. But after many Atti runs in strong wind, the new replacement arm stayed in the drawer for months.

Since then, the bottle of Loctite Super Glue Professional has been in my kit bag wherever I go

Maybe Humbrol Polystyrene Cement ? (Amazon ASIN B0043F5KY4 ). Have had good success with this in fixing headphones / mp3’s etc. Good luck with whatever method you choose :+1:

J B Weld will stick most things very well.
Its not instant, over night curing is best.
Held my Radiator drain plug in my Saab 900 for years!

No questions asked just file a care refresh and get a new drone

Showing my age here, but I used to use that on radiators and thermostat housings on my 60s and 70s Fords, instead of gaskets

I’d use any two-part epoxy resin, such as Araldite or Gorilla.

And as @yorkie9668 said, just sand / scratch / key-up both parts and it’ll be stronger than the OEM plastic part ever was

I have found liquid poly or model glue works well for me (Amazon.co.uk)

Proper component replacement every time for me! Insured or not, do a proper job!

What is improper about bonding items together ??
Real aircraft, numerous cars etc are now bonded together from new - even wide chord fan blades installed in aero gas turbines are bonded together as are the fan cases - far more forces involved in a fan containment case :man_shrugging:

Maybe ask the insurance companies. They won’t compromise on repairs. Manufacturing is one thing. Forum advice is another.

I suppose it depends on whether owner is in the field and wants/needs a quick repair to continue flying. Hence I opt for the instant adhesion. That said, if your not in a rush, the two part epoxies are very strong, if not the strongest option of all adhesives.

DJI replaced my Mini 2 (x2) under Care Refresh, both drones had many DIY repairs using Loctite Super Glue. They didn’t even query it, they sent me out a replacement within 72 hours on both occassions.

forget the glue - get the refresh. especially after that type of investment.

Thanks everyone, so helpful as normal. I have made a claim on the care refresh and waved the drone off with UPS this morning.

Hope you get your drone back soon, can i ask is there a excess you need to pay when claiming on the DJI policy.
