A beautiful winter’s day and an ideal opportunity to go fly ‘Helga’, my Neo2, in this nearby location.
If you want to fly here the owner is very amenable provided you ask for permission. She has a bad experience with one operator who declared himself entitled to fly there from the farm’s private land, did not ask for permission and apparently behaved in such a way as to almost put her off allowing future flights. Please show some respect if you fly here and support the café, it’s very good!
Hmmm, not sure about the owner being amenable to drone pilots. A few years ago, they wanted £10 to take off from their land. I don’t think they like those that TOAL outside their property either.
Yes, I had seen elsewhere on here that the owner would ask a fee but having bought lunch for three perhaps she overlooked that. It’s arguably their right to charge for TOAL on their own land even though that rankles a bit. She was clear to me that provided people ask permission and just fly round the windmill then she’s fine. It was someone who just turned up, started flying and then argued with her that almost put her off permitting anyone to fly. She called the police on that occasion too although they said there was nothing she could do except bring a civil case. It’s a nice café so I’d say treat yourself to a coffee at least then ask the owner politely and you’d be fine.
