Right. I’ve had a look at the ZoHD, and whilst can probably get it back in the air. I think a Digital one be great. The Wasp is on it’s way, so move the FC, etc out to a “new” frame…
I’ve been looking around and these two jump out (want to spend £150 max, closer to £100 better) for wing, motors, ESC. Have the FC and a RX, etc…
So looking at the following:
Craig has one, seems OK, though little concerned with videos on room, and cooling through the bay for the VTX.
I like this one, slightly cheaper, loads of space, good reviews… Heard bad things. Other options? I want a quick wing really…
Buddy of mine calls the AR Pro a Marmite wing, people seem to either love it or hate it.
Most that I know seem to get best result launching it overhead, which can feel unnatural.
I have a T1, with a Matek F405 FC and it’s not particularly cramped, I have a 1S WS VTX in there, and a crossfire RX and GPS, plenty of room for a 3 x high current 18650 pack.
T1 flies well, I like the twin tractor setup as there’s no chance of hitting your hand with a prop, can do endurance flights as well as the AR Pro.
I guess it depends on what else you’ve already got, maybe go for whatever is most unlike the rest of your fleet. Both fly well, especially with a FC onboard.
FWIW, I don’t have a great deal of experience with pure wings, I have mostly flown planes with tails, but as I understand it, the Mobula is less forgiving than the other two. If it’s speed you’re after, either the AR Pro or the Mobula would do, but the smaller it is, the less forgiving it seems to be.
Also if any of you have these smaller “quad style” single ESC’s suitable for a wing, that’d be great, these wing one’s with built in 5V BEC I don’t need, and confuse me, lol! That ok? I know @Steviegeek always says he’s got a few for sale, or let’s at least discuss that
Wing / Plane ESCs don’t get the same cooling as quads so they tend to be bigger and have aluminium plate heatsinks built in.
But if the motor is more of a quad size on a smaller craft then I’ve used normal BLHeli 32 ESC’s with no problem, I just keep an eye on them for the first few flights
