I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
Land owner permission requirements unknown.
Wolfclyde bridge is thought to be early 19th century. It has 2 wide, main arches, and 6 flood arches – 1 group of 4 + 1 group of 2. The bridge carries the A72 road.
To the north of the bridge you will find the piers of an old railway bridge. The bridge served the Symington, Biggar, and Peebles rail line from around 1860, and closed in the 1950’s.
Hazards: Apart from the main road, there are power lines near the south side of Wolfclyde Bridge. There are also more power lines to the north of the old rail bridge piers, but these are further away.
As usual, watch out for livestock & wildlife.
Parking: Free on roadside near Coulter Motte Hill – W3W: ///texted.confused.suits
TOAL: The side of the main road is handy as there are no trees to worry about and you can see the nearby power lines easily – just pick a time of low traffic. W3W: ///shuttling.couch.rankings
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 26/12/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
