I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:
Woolacombe in North Devon is one of our favourite beaches in the Uk. A fantastic place to capture the sunset with the drone. A huge beach where you can easily find space to take off and land from away from the crowds.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 16/10/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.
Love the Golden Coast. Was a special place to me at a difficult time. I actully was on stage in Brum each evening for a week and after the show I rode my bike to Woolacombe Bay getting there for about 3am. Then I would spend time there and come back on the bike for the next evening show. I did however put so much petrol in the bike that I then went and put petrol in my diesel 4x4. So that was a job to get sorted. The Golden Coast is a really nice place and one day will hopefully get back there soon. One evening at the resort I did have to do an indianna Jones mime on stage fighting crocodiles, cutting down trees to get threw and all sorts with friends filming it.
The straight-down shot of waves never gets old. I love to see it!
I spent my teenaged years in North Devon (Dad was air/sea rescue helicopter winchman at RAF Chivenor). Rode my bike to the beach most days after school in the summer. Happy days!
