Gotta love them yanks, not that we haven’t a few of our own home-grown British dammit Carruthers nutters. Just had a bit of a spat (meaning I spat at him, or at least wanted to) with a bloke from NYC on FB, sounded like a bit of a MAGA head, wondering why he’d seen so little drone activity in his neck of the woods over the last few days, in what is probably the most intensely monitored airspace on the planet… It had started with a discussion about American droners who’d had their kit take off them at World Cup stadiums by the FBI. One guy was illegally in the country; he isn’t any more, legally or illegally…
Anyhow, MAGAgoon responded to my question about 'exactly which part of TFR (NOTAM NFZs in the States) he needed explaining with a tirade of ‘don’t obay (sic) the law, that’s how they control you dude, grow some nads you useless fuck…’ Found the level then. Hope he uses his nads to fly in restricted airspace, the feds seem to be mopping them up like flies, 50 of 'em in Atlanta the last two days, and it;s not as if they haven’t been copiously warned, with tv and internet adverts from the FBI.
Seriously, I’m not claiming to be some sort of law-abiding saint, but I don’t go deliberately looking for trouble. I guess these morons are naturally idiots, you can’t just go on a course and study for that level of stupid! Looks like the World Cup will drag them out of their caves enough to mop a good few up and hopefully remove them from the game for a bit; the Feds have promised to come down hard and will be looking for prison sentences rather than fines.
From published Fed drone footage, they are fairly easily identifiable, they follow a distinct and predictable, if unbelievably stupid pattern. 3 or 4 of them turn up in the stadium car park in their SUV with some beers, take their shirts off so they can go all lobster in the sun, get the drone out, and sit on the tailgate watching the game on the drone screen, BVLOS of course. Guess what happens next! I’m finding it great spectator sport, better than the footie!
