X-Class early flight

Managed to go out again today - with an action cam this time (took a good couple of hours to install the mount - while you can easily swap an arm, trying to ‘open’ the quad - ie removing the top plate is quite a process )

Really happy with the result - only downside is the bigger the drone, the heavier it is to go fly - with this one just the drone & batteries for 3 flights - about 10kg

details of the build - Thor 12S X-Class

Last set of batteries for the day so taking a break from tuning and just flying a bit around enjoying the experience (happy with the filtering so slowly increasing gains now)
I messed up the cam settings (to ultrawide) so no stabilization and also noticed the mic seems on its way out - but you still get a sense of how this beast flies

Audio recording is quite bad - was never very good (known Action 2 cam limitation) but the mic is now clipping and emitting those high freq noise when it does.
Would love to find a good way to record good audio on those big quads - the sound is epic irl

Horror film vibes I loved it

I’ve got some ‘USB Stick’ looking self powered audio recorders. I’ll be trying them out this coming weekend on planes. I’ll post the results.

I have some LED hard strips on order to lighten the thing up - I’ll look at smoke machines after that
