YouTube publishing

As we all know drone flyers who publish their work and reviews on YouTube and make money from it, need to have a commercial licence because it is considered a business.
Fair enough. Does anyone know if it is possible to publish video on YouTube or Vimeo as a recreational user (with no ads) without the need to have a licence?
Thanks

This is not in fact the case - as @ianinlondon confirmed, recently [Link to post.] …

So - as far as your recreational/hobbyist posts with no ads - there is absolutely no problem at all.

I asked @ianinlondon the same question recently and he confirmed the same :+1:.

However, be mindful that anything in the public domain is up for criticism and you need to be sure all footage shows that you’re 100% complying with the drone code and CAA guidelines.

Thank you Lozzer

I was approached to buy some footage I’d put on YouTube and it’s all fine.
