He will have to be a bloody good shot to hit a drone at more than 50 feet.
What led up to this? I assume he didn’t suddenly appear will sling ready but that thhere was some interaction beforehand.
Sadly not, he started been aggressive 30 seconds prior shouting at me "told you before not to fly that fucker here’ and im like Sir this is the 1st time ive been here and never spike you you in my life and then he getting more agitated and started pulking that out so i was like i need to film an get evidence, he was then spouting just before the video of his privacy in his garden in the circle he is in 1 of those he appesred from the back end of,
And thats when this happened sadly i was trying to be polite with him but he wasnt having none of it

Sorry you had to experience that. He may well have been annoyed by someone else previously and just assumed it wa you.
Not much you can do apart from keep your cool because you are in the right..
And organise a large meetup at Hickings Lane Recreation Ground …

hope you dont think im an auditor! i was just flying getting footage for the council as it was a new buildsing and they asked if i could grab some aeriel footage

Just out of curiosity, did you inform this twat you were flying on behalf of the council?
was trying too tell him that someone from the fund project thas from council wanted me to get the images etc but he wasnt having any of it

Me too, lay the twat out, then tell 5 0 he hit the drone with the slingshot and it flew into him

I had a similar thing happen when I flew my drone around a castle, this guy came up to me and said I was filming his wife sunbathing in the back garden. I started laughing and he got a bit wound up. I said I am not interested in your wife, he was an old senior, so I presume his wife was the same.
He asked me what I was laughing at, I said I did not buy my drone to peep at old ladies, and if he could not see the castle I told him he needed glasses. I told him its against the rules to interfere with a pilot when he is flying the drone.
Anyway after a bit of arguing I showed him my screen and said can you spot your wife, he had to admit it was like looking for an ant on the ground. I was only 220 feet up as well.
Once I had showed him my view he calmed down and sort of apologised and just walked off. I just kept flying till I had my shots.
You do meet them every now and then..

What a lunatic, it has to go to the police. He has broken several laws there. It was on the borderline for me but close to me actually taking him out as i would have felt threatened by an aggressive person with a weapon.

that is a tactic i would always recommend, if you working with a 24mm angle something 220 feet away if half a mile away. I have had to show people my photographs (not had to i guess) when someone was in a public place…. mostly when the see what the shot is they say ok, i will always just say do you want me to delete it? if they say yes i delete it in front of them and make sure they then feel ok. it has happened very rarely.
The ironic thing is if I take a 600mm lens on my 30Mp cam and stand in a place 3 feet above them i can read their email as they sit in the kitchen without even knowing i am there…..
people watch a lot of spy movies, don’t understand tech etc etc….
