Ahoy hoy! Heywood - GM

Hi everyone!

I’m Arran, and I’m excited to be part of this community of drone enthusiasts. I recently purchased a DJI Neo, along with the N3 controller, and I’m really looking forward to getting it up in the air—just waiting for some better weather to fly!

I’m fairly new to the world of drones, but I’m eager to learn, share experiences, and pick up any tips you all have to offer. Looking forward to connecting with you all and sharing some great flights!

The Neo is a great piece of kit, but a bit vulnerable to the weather. I use these 3 weather apps for drone flying, firstly UAV Forecast, instant ‘good to fly’ or not info including dew point and Kp (solar activity). Also Airdata, an app worth having for other reasons than weather forecasting but it includes a basic forecast in a similar format to the UAV. Finally, Ventusky, which I have found very accurate and good for 14 days ahead, so great for planning, but a little more complex than the others.

Watch out for wind speed including gusts, visibilty, rain, and moisture/humidity/dew point, then visibility and extreme high or low temperatures.

Happy landings!
