Looks like the Air 3 is designed to be retrofitted with a 4g/5g connection via a USB C expansion bay built in to the top of it.
Not sure how much use it would be though, since it would already be a challenge to fly beyond the O4 range without running out of battery except for flying behind obstructions such as trees I suppose.
Is this news to anyone?
They’ve been around for various DJI drones for a couple of years, not available to purchase directly in the UK and I suspect they’d also be firmware / GPS-location locked.

The rc pro rm - 510 also has a cover in the back which behind is for this dongle but as we know not for this country & many others.
Found this outfit that appear to supply the dongle but there are a few comments that bother me ie no returns and needs an annual subscription from DJI after 1st year 
They do however supply some genuine DJI that some may find useful.
Never used them so buyer beware - just for info.
Things like that convince me even more that it’s a geolocked piece of functionality 
The Chinese will sell you anything 
Based in Shenzhen,China, djioemparts.com offers original repair parts for all kinds of DJI products
and its pretty certain it wont work here
So that makes 3 of us that won’t be buying a 4G dongle
Having said that - http://djioemparts.com/ - may be useful for the other DJI parts they sell - shipping time to UK is quoted as 7~10 days.
