Alan from Suffolk

I have been ordered to introduce myself !
I have always been spoilt with two older sisters, but my assistant looks after me quite well.
However in my defence I can do plumbing, electrics, IT (specialist subject), cars, photography, sailing (highly qualified) ! Operate a microwave.
I started with parrot, quite nice but it went wrong from a great height and crashed. Now have Plat and Mini, great toys. Got A2 thingy.

North Uist.

A new member doing as instructed - that’s a rare talent you have there Alan :joy:

Was the Parrot the Anafi model by any chance ??

Yes, an Anafi my first proper drone. Quite nice but buggy. Eventually it rose to a great height and stayed there until the battery ran out, then dropped and crashed. I made a fuss and got a refund and a Platinum. Still have have that and did the A2. But then I got a Mini2, lovely little thing. I think everyone and his dog goes for this because you don’t need A2. Also more stable than the Plat I think. I tried to sell Plat on ebay but no takers, fancy selling both and getting Mini4. But I think Mini2 good enough for me at the moment, put it in your pocket. At least if you read my other posts was chased by two armed police last week in Tetbury, but I was 2 miles away from Charlie’s gaff !! About 500m from edge of circle, will check DroneScene in future for new places !!

What’s a “plat”, Alan @toad007 ?

Are you talking about a DJI Mavic Pro?

Yes but it is called Mavic Platinum. It was a quiet model. I think the Pro has a better camera.

Welcome to Grey Arrows, hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do…

I’ve got the use of an Anafi Thermal and it frightens the crap out of me every time I fly the thing. Its a great little drone when its working but its so flakey and of course Parrot has disowned it now with no further support to put right their cock-up with the batteries. Think you got lucky with the refund
Minii 2 is still a very capable drone - compared to the Anafi - its rock solid :+1:

Yes, love the Mini2 the most. Mavic Platinum a bit more powerful of course. But the Mini2 is so practical, keep it in the car lots, takes little room. Camera fantastic.
