Annual Membership with ID card?

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to maybe make the annual membership around £27.50 with PLI and a membership card, I appreciate these cars are normally £6.99, but doing it all in one hit would be far easier surely?
Or an option to get a card at that price, that way we can always have one for the whole 12 month period.
Just an idea, thoughts admin?

I’m not sure that would be viable.

I believe the membership cards are produced by a member of the committee, I very much doubt they are making any profit personally and if there is a small margin, it will be invested back into the club, to contribute towards overheads (server costs, hosting fees, etc…)

A first class stamp, now costs a staggering £1.65.

I’d happily pay the appropriate current combined rate, for both membership and card renewal at the same time, if there was an option to do so.

Yeah maybe you are right, and again yes so would I, before I was a member of FPVUK and always ordered my card the same time as membership, I forgot here, so it runs out after my membership does

Sorry Mark, not quite following here.

What runs out after your membership runs out?

My card, unless I have read it wrong

Possibly? You’d have to re-read it.

Membership ID cards are printed with the expiry date of your membership, at the time of printing the card.

The only time that might go out of sync is where we’ve gifted members extra months (eg. Veterans) or where members have won a membership package in a competition.

And just to manage your expectations on this one, Mark

We currently only charge £9 a year for £5m Public Liability Insurance.

Nine quid

It makes us the cheapest PLI provider in the UK by a country mile.

We’d not be able to sell the ID cards, at a loss, for just £2.50

Oh, and if anyone is thinking of buying a Membership ID card at the moment, they may want to hang on until Friday…

Some details will follow in the coming days :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Sounds even better when you say 0.75p per month

= 2.5p per day.

Even I could afford that. (Not that I have.)

I’m not looking to make it cheaper, it was an idea, same as someone said about fluorescent jackets the other week, I wouldn’t mind paying whatever they cost, but round it up so that we get a membership card with our membership renewals, sorry if you misread what I meant it was not my intention to insult

You beat me to it I was trying to work it out …. I blame the calculator ( not human error )

Don’t worry Mark, nobody was insulted

That, we can probably do

Please do check the date on your card though, it should expire when your membership expires.

It might be a day or two out at most, we grant everyone a couple of days grace in case of issues when renewing, some peoples credit cards have expired, get declined, etc.

Will have a look, I want my membership card to run the same as my membership, look I finally got it out doh!

Yes, that’s exactly what they do
