Hi all. Made a few comments since joining in December but just to introduce myself. I live in Torbay and have bought a DJI Air3S and my first experiences are this drone makes up for every mistake I make. Let go and it just hovers, recollect my thoughts and carry on. Had a few sessions of great flying in France in perfect winter conditions, January and February in Devon may be different.
Would welcome to meet others with experience on good places to fly in South Devon.
We’re a well established club with many knowledgeable members so it’s very likely that any issues you come across will have been discussed here before. Our discussion forum has very powerful search features which should help you find what you need but if you get stuck you can post a new question in the Questions & Answers category.
And finally, if you are new to drones and wondering what it’s all about, have a look at Resources for a beginner.
Welcome! @Martin16 i took my air 2s out yesterday and although the drone was fine it was my fingers and thumbs that suffered. Need to get myself some fingerless gloves maybe
I’m new here too (Mini Pro 4), and also Torbay. New flyer, working on internalising the rules and legalities, and to fly ‘Jenna’ (just Broadsands thus far).
Happy to meet up sometime and/or swap notes on flying locations.
@Rontorbay said hello in my intro thread and is also Torbay.
Broadsands is a place I have thought about but not yet flown in Torbay. I need to get more practice and to recognise that having a drone weighing over 250gm causes more issues in popular walking areas. Lots on at the moment but will stay in touch and I will give you and @Rontorbay an update after my first flight in South Devon.
