Anyone recommend the dji mini 4 Pro over a used mini 3 Pro?

Thought I’d read somewhere that no more firmware and products enhancements are planned for the mini three pro…. Apologies if I’m wrong. Mini five i reckon will come out in the next 3-6 months…. Lots of speculation re the features ie longer battery life, lidar detection, stronger motors. IB

I had a similar dilemma choosing between the Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 4 Pro.

There wasn’t enough of a justification in the price difference between an used Mini 3 Pro and the Mini 4 Pro.

So a few weeks back I bought a very reasonably priced used Mini 3 Pro, with two batteries with the most used battery with only 16 charge cycles.

As the release of the Mini 5 Pro is likely imminent, I would have felt bad buying a brand new 4 if the 5 came out straight away.

It’s not, it’s really not

The enhancements are done but any bugs or relivant updates will still be pushed till its EOL but there is no date for that yet, mine still has a year of Care Refresh

Ive seen some images lately but nothing from the usual people that have this inside info
and I doubt it will be 3-6 months

Release dates:

Mini 3 Pro - 10th May 2022.
Mini 4 Pro - 25th September 2023.

The Mini 5 Pro release looks imminent.

Ive recently purchased the Mini 4 Pro Sky Master Bundle, rather than a second hand Mini 3 Pro, my reason was because i already have The Neo and controllers that have a certain amount of compatibility and on the 04 transmission. I also want the Avata 2 probably second hand in the future and an 04 air unit camera to add to my aging GepRC Mk5 drone to convert it to digital as i already have the Goggles N3 with the Neo. If you are not worried too much about the better collision avoidance or going the FPV route with Neo or Avata 2 in the future then the savings on a Mini 3 Pro may suit you. One warning if you get into drones its gonna cost you in the future

Thanks for your reply and advice there, WoodyDronesOn…Well, I’m expecting my new Mini 4 Pro drone Skymaster bundle from DJI Hasselblad to be delivered today…comes with everything I need…Care Refresh …etc etc. I’m really looking forward to receiving it later today if all goes well with the delivery. They have emailed me a link to the Care Refresh and also the 3rd Party Insurance that comes with the bundle…but I’m not activating anything until I’ve got the drone here…lol. I’ve heard that people have come unstuck by being too impatient and not registering their new drone with DJI within 48 hrs of the drone being initially powered up…and then having to deal with all sorts of problems afterwards. Once again…cheers, Woody…and thanks for your time.

Hi Andy401C…thanks for your advice there, mate. I’ve now bought a mini4 Pro fly more combo along with Care Refresh and third party insurance, plus ND filters etc. In fact, it’s getting delivered today with a bit of luck. To answer your question, I have always been fascinated by any kind of aircraft and used to build balsa free flight gliders and diesel powered control line combat models when I was a kid. Later on in life, I learned how to fly a Cessna, sailplanes (gliders) and then went on to more affordable seat-of -your -pants stuff, like hang-gliders and paragliders. The addition of a camera on a flying machine is real interesting to me…and hopefully I’ll be able to film my family when we’re out on a day out sometime. I guess the world’s your oyster when you have one of these machines. Once again…thanks…and I’ll try and let you know how I get on with it. Bye for now…Mike M.

Nice One - the care package is a must have - buy it you won’t use it, don’t buy it you’ll wish you had!!! The mini 4 pro is brilliant - I didn’t bother with the ND filters … I find they’re used in quite niche video situations…maybe one day when the sun starts shining again😁

Just had the package delivered…and guess what? The shoulder bag is missing and also the hard waterproof case that was promised. I also noticed that the crafty buggers had removed said bag and carry case from the written list, but they are still there on the photograph of the supposed list of items included within the ‘Skymaster Bundle’. Also, they still state that there are £250 of free goodies included withing the package, but when I added them all up, they only come ot £221.99 ! Bit of a drop on £250, don’t you think? Anyway…I’ve emailed them literally 30 minutes after having received the package because they weren’t answering the phone! What a ballsache !

Ah, that is indeed a ball ache. In your shoes I’d grab screenshots of the site whilst it’s still got the picture with the bags. And if they get arsey in their reply, threaten them with bad reviews (they seem to care quite a bit about their Trustpilot rating). Hope you get it sorted.

What does the actual drone box say? If it’s the Fly More kit then it the shoulder bag should be in there and included.

And this is probably another good reminder that DJI Hasselblad / DJI-retail.co.uk has nothing to do with DJI themselves.

DJI Retail UK is an Authorised DJI dealer - you should be able to get it sorted. The Flymore package absolutely does include the bag - and your drone should have been shipped in the flymore box - good luck. I did note that the skymaster offer is ‘sold out’ but if they ran out of hard cases, that’s their problem to fully refund you - in which case, ship EVERYTHING not in the standard flymore bundle back to them and they can sort their crap out

Hi, JoeC…thanks for your reply, advice and support, mate ! I’ve already emailed them and taken a screenshot of their online adversement, regarding the contents of the ‘skymaster bundle’. I havn’t given them a bad rating yet, but be sure I will if this isn’t resolved REAL SOON. Cheers…Mike M.

Hi there, Andy401C…thanks for your reply, advice and concern, mate. I’m on it, and looking forward to them answering the phone later today (Friday 21st). Watch this space. Cheers…Mike M.

Cheers, ParmoPaul. I’m not sure if the soft shoulder bag is packed inside the ‘flymore combo’ box. I haven’t opened the box, for obvious reasons, so can’t tell if that is the case…pardon the pun. I’ll let you all know how I got on with all this laters…bye for now…Mike M.

Sorry…the shoulder bag is included within the mini 4 Pro fly more bundle box. Having checked the really small print on the side of the box, I can confirm that it is indeed included. I couldn’t believe that they fitted the shoulder bag inside such a small box! Anyhow…the waterproof hard carry case is still missing…and that’s enough to rattle my cage any day. Watch this space…
