Yep it is an impressive bit of packaging.
Hi Mike,
I have had exactly the same dilemma myself. In the end I’ve just purchased a MIni 4 Pro.
The 3 pro will no longer get any firmware updates and no new features.
The 3 Pro uses the older controller. This could be for consideration if you plan to add another drone later and need the newer controller type (RC2 - RC N2)
I managed to get a reconditioned DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone Fly More Combo With RC2 Controller for just over £700
In the end I chose a second hand DJI Mini Pro 3 over a Mini Pro 4 after watching the video below.
The real selling points for me were:
- It’s cheaper (especially as it’s my first drone and I may well crash it or lose it!),
- The fly time is a bit longer,
- It’s quiter than the Pro 4 so less likely to draw attention from the public.
Hi, Trystan…thanks for your reply ! I have already taken the plunge and now have a brand new mini 4 Pro fly more kit and other accessories, including a 2yr Care Refresh plan and 3rd Party Insurance. I have also taken the CAA tests, passed…and now have my Operator and Flyer I.D’s. I was going to go the way with second-hand…but decided against it in the end…it’s just me…lol. I took it out for a little flight the other day, and was surprised how smoothly responsive and quiet it is. I used to fly RC model aircraft years ago, and I must admit that flying a drone feels totally different to flying a fixed-wing aircraft…but that’s probably down to me, being rusty ‘on the sticks’. It felt really weird; being able to just release the sticks and see the drone just hovering there automatically. You don’t get that with RC planes and helicopters…though these days they do come with automatic electronic levelling chips etc that makes them a whole lot easier to fly.Anyhow…all good at the minute, and I intend to get a serious amount of ‘stick time’ in, in order to be able to control the drone to the high standard that I used to control my RC aircraft with. Bye for now…and Cheers.
Hi again, PingSpike…like I said before, I couldn’t see any members on the map. I have added my location, by the way…but having done that, I still couldn’t see any members on there. Is this because I only have the Bronze membership, by any chance? I did try to join up with the Silver Membership last night, but for some weird reason this website wouldn’t accept my credit cards ! No matter, though…no doubt I’ll get round this problem and maybe then I’ll be able to see other members and contact them, with the aim of meeting up and going for flying sessions together. I did fly my new mini 4 Pro yesterday, and I was totally blown away how smooth and responsive the drone is…and was made fully aware that a whole lot more ‘stick time’ is needed. Thanks for reading…and please let me know of this membership business, regarding being able to see the other members on the map. Bye for now…Mike M.
