Have a look on Google maps, IF you can see over the quarry just go ahead and fly, as I am sure Google maps never obtained permission. Good Luck, Fly Safe.

Just for your information, I’m going to be flying over/near your property on [date]/[time]. I’ll not be on your property, and will keep to the legally required distance at all times.

If you feel they should know, tell them what you’re doing, rather than ask for permission.
